The Offerings and The Priesthood

Oct 21, 2026  •  Pastor Rob Salvato

Pastor Rob explores how the courtyard of the tabernacle reveals God’s redemptive plan, beginning with the Bronze Altar (where sacrifices atone for sin and judgment is borne) and the Brass Laver (where priests are cleansed before entering worship), showing how we approach God through the blood of Christ and the washing of God’s Word. The High Priest’s garments carry profound symbolism: the onyx stones on his shoulders bearing the weight of the nation (Jesus bearing us), the breastplate with twelve stones on his heart (Jesus carrying the church), and the anointing oil flowing down his garments (the Holy Spirit’s empowerment)—all picturing Christ as our ultimate High Priest who intercedes for us. The daily sacrifices of two lambs morning and evening demonstrate continuous access to God through Christ’s once-and-for-all sacrifice, with every aspect of the priesthood and offerings pointing to Jesus as both the sacrificer and the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
