The Meeting Place Between God and Man

Oct 11, 2026  •  Pastor Rob Salvato

Pastor Rob explores why God devoted 13 chapters of Scripture to the tabernacle—revealing it as a shadow of heavenly things and a picture of Jesus as the meeting place between God and humanity. The Ark of the Covenant, made of acacia wood (symbolizing Christ’s incorruptible humanity) overlaid with pure gold (symbolizing His deity), contained the tablets of the Law, manna, and Aaron’s rod—representing humanity’s failure but pointing to Christ’s ultimate fulfillment as Prophet, Priest, and Provider. The Mercy Seat, the costliest piece in the tabernacle, illustrates God’s mercy and grace, with Jesus ultimately becoming the Mercy Seat Himself—the place where God meets sinners not on the basis of their own righteousness, but through faith in His blood and finished work.
