Domestic Church Plants

Tyler and veronica bacquet

Pismo Beach, California

“We’re planting a Church! For years, we have dreamed of what it would look like to plant a vibrant church that is centered on Jesus. After years of prayer and preparation, we sense that the Lord is calling us to step out in faith to plant Everlight Church in Pismo Beach.
Our hearts are burning with a passion to see renewal come to the Central Coast. Our desire is to establish a community that is dedicated to pursuing Jesus together, is marked by the ministry of the Word and the Spirit, and leads to genuine transformation. Our vision is to see all of Jesus reflected in all of life, bringing renewal to all the coast.
We invite you to prayerfully consider partnering with us through committed prayer or financial support. We believe that God is going to do “exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think” as we step out on this new venture of faith.”

nick and rosemary cady

Longmont, Colorado

Rosemary was sent out by Calvary Vista to Hungary as a missionary in 1998. Nick and Rosemary met there, where they served together first in Debrecen. After getting married, they planted a church in Eger, Hungary, which they handed over to local leaders raised up through that ministry in 2012. After handing over the church in Eger, they moved to Longmont, Colorado, where Nick pastors White Fields Community Church.

Tony & Jenise Clark

Newport News, Virginia

Hailing from Gary, Indiana, Tony was stationed at Camp Pendleton as a young Marine. When his enlistment was complete, Tony went to work for a major cable company in Southern California. Shortly thereafter, he was asked by Pastor Brian Brodersen to come on staff at Calvary Chapel Vista as an assistant pastor. It was at CCV that Tony served as the College & Career’s Pastor, Children’s Ministry Pastor, and as the High School Pastor. His time at CCV provided Tony with vital hands-on experience and placed a burden on his heart to start a church. After much prayer, Tony and Jenise, along with their three young children, moved to Newport News, Virginia. This move was uncharted territory, as neither Tony nor Jenise had ever been to the East Coast before. But they knew this was where the Lord wanted them to be.
In 1994, Calvary Chapel Newport News began. The first Sunday morning meeting place was in an elementary school gymnasium, with Wednesday evening services meeting in their living room, and later moved to their two-car garage. Tony recalls that at the first summer’s meetings in his garage, as he taught the book of Leviticus, there were 25 straight days of 95-degree heat! Tony said, “Even though one of our church members had given us a small air conditioner, the heat was brutal! But the people were hungry for God’s Word and were eager to learn!”
Fast forward 26 years, Tony has continued to teach 10’s of thousands of people that have come through the doors of CCNN. He states, “Our church is a multi-cultural, multi-generational church where people are taught to Reach Up in prayer and worship, to Reach In through spiritual growth and discipleship, Reach Around through small groups, and Reach Out in evangelism.
Tony’s radio program, “The Word Made Plain,” can be heard weekdays at 11:00 pm on KWAVE. He is also a guest every other Tuesday on Pastor’s Perspective.tis.

ben & Judy garate

Montrose, Colorado

The Garate family moved from Calvary Chapel Vista to the Western Slope of Colorado to plant a church in 1995.  From small beginnings as a home Bible Study to the church building now owned free-and-clear, God has been ever faithful through the years.  In various times and various ways, Jesus has continued to minister through CCM and to reach the hearts of people in our community.  We are thankful for all the support we have received from our CCV family, and ask for your continued prayers as we seek God’s will and wisdom in the days to come.
If you find yourself in our neck of the woods, please stop in and see us! You can also visit us on the web and listen to some of Pastor Ben’s archived messages.  God bless!

phil & rebecca mckay

Reno, Nevada

Phil joined the Calvary Vista staff as the assistant High School pastor in 2000. Fresh out of the Marines, Phil eventually learned that he had A LOT to learn. Pastor Rob and the faithful staff at Calvary Vista poured into him and trained him for ministry. In 2002, Phil and Rebecca were married and enjoyed leading the College and Career Ministry together. In 2006, the McKay Family stepped out by faith to plant Capilla del Calvario de Villareal, near Tamarindo, Costa Rica. In 2015, the Lord led them back to the United States, where Phil became the lead pastor at Calvary Chapel of Paris, Texas. In 2020, right in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Lord led the McKay family back to Nevada, where Phil grew up and was called to be a pastor when he was just a boy. Phil is now serving as the lead pastor at Calvary Chapel Reno-Sparks, where he and his family are still learning and leaning on the amazing grace of Jesus.

troy & rebecca warner

Lynchburg, Virginia

Pastor Troy Warner had been on staff at Calvary Vista for 4 years and was being led to step out and begin a new work in a new place. After Pastor Troy prayed and sought the Lord for guidance, he realized Lynchburg, VA, was the place God wanted to send him, to the small group of people faithfully praying for such a work. On August 1, 1994, Pastor Troy and his family moved to Lynchburg to begin the simple ministry of teaching the Word of God verse-by-verse and chapter-by-chapter, while loving and leading the flock. Since 1994, God has added to our number and blessed us with many opportunities to serve Him and proclaim the Gospel in our city and throughout the world. As a church, we believe that the Lord has led us to do 3 things: 1. Encounter God through Spirit-filled worship and dynamic prayer. 2. Equip the Saints with solid Bible-teaching and meaningful fellowship. 3. Evangelize the World through local outreaches and global missions.
